So, if you’re experiencing shaking when you brake, all the components and how they work together will need to be assessed in order to determine the reason why.
When you press the brake pedal in a car while driving, it sets off a chain reaction involving multiple systems working together to slow or stop your vehicle.
Pressing the brake pedal puts pressure into the brake lines, which puts pressure on the pistons inside the brake caliper to squeeze the brake pads inside the caliper against each wheel-attached metal rotor disc. As a result, your vehicle slows down thanks to the friction between the brake pads and rotors.
While braking occurs, suspension components such as springs, control arms, and joints maintain proper alignment, stability, and tire contact with the road.

When the rotors become warped, they lose the smooth and even surface that the brake pads are pressed onto, causing your car to shake when you press on the brake pedal. Warped rotors are commonly caused by excessive and prolonged heat generated by friction during heavy and prolonged braking.
If your braking habits tend to involve heavy braking or lots of steep descents in the mountains, your risk of warping your rotors increases.
DIY Troubleshooting
- Remove your wheels and inspect your brake rotors for irregular wear and grooves. If you suspect that your rotors are warped, replace the brake rotors AND the brake pads at the same time. 2. Worn Brake Pads
When you feel your car shake when you brake, you may have worn brake pads. When was the last time your vehicle had a brake service appointment and had its brake pads replaced?

As a result, when you press down on the brakes, the pads are not able to provide the necessary friction to slow down the wheels smoothly. Instead, worn brake pads can cause the wheels to vibrate at high speed, resulting in a shaking sensation in your car.

- Remove your wheels and inspect your brake pad thickness. Ensure that your pads are above the recommended thickness. Brake pads are considered to be moderately worn when they reach 4 to 6 millimeters (1/8 to 1/4 inch) thick and should be replaced soon.

How a Car Air Conditioning System Works
Firstly, let’s investigate the general idea of how air conditioning works. Understanding how a system works is important for troubleshooting any issues that may exist in the system. It’s important to know a little physics to understand your car’s ac system. Higher pressure is associated with higher temperatures and a gas state while low pressure is associated with lower temperatures and a liquid state. Additionally, cold air can be defined as air from which heat has been extracted or removed, and heat naturally tends to move towards areas with lower temperatures.
The AC system in your car is a cycle of components that cools the inside of your car through a series of steps that pressurize and depressurize a special liquid called refrigerant. Car AC Components
The cycle begins with the pressurization of refrigerant into a high-temperature gas by the workhorse of your AC system (the AC compressor). It seems counterintuitive that the AC system must first create a high temperature in order to reduce the temperature in your car, but this step is necessary to set the refrigerant and AC system in motion.
The high-temperature gas refrigerant travels to a radiator-like component (the AC condenser) at the front of your car’s engine bay where the refrigerant is converted into a liquid once enough heat is removed by a fan that blows air through the condenser’s metal fins.
Once a liquid, the refrigerant is filtered for chemical impurities through another component (receiver drier) and continues to the component near the inside of your car that makes the magic of AC happen (the expansion valve). The filtered liquid refrigerant’s pressure is greatly reduced by this component, which gives the refrigerant a much lower temperature than the surrounding air.
The low-temperature liquid refrigerant moves into another radiator-like component (the evaporator core) located behind your car’s dash vents.
Recall from earlier that cold air can be defined as air from which heat has been extracted, and heat tends to move towards areas with lower temperatures. Heat in the air is extracted from the air by the low-temperature refrigerant inside of the evaporator, and the resulting cold air is pushed through your car’s air vents by a blower motor fan, and voila! Your system blows cold air! The refrigerant returns to the condenser to restart the cycle that continues its cooling sequence as long as you have the AC turned on.

- Locate your car’s cabin air filter, which is generally located behind the glove box or under the dashboard on the passenger side of the car. Take the filter out and inspect it for dirt, dust, and debris that could be restricting the flow of air and causing your car’s AC issues. Replace the filter if it looks dirty or clogged.
